The 2010 Empire State Summer Games will be held in the
Buffalo/Niagara Region July 21 - 25.

Welcome to The Empire State Summer Games!  The largest competition of its kind in the nation, the Games is a multi-sport event for amateur athletes, patterned after the Olympic program. Athletes must be residents of the State of New York. Following competition (Regional Trials) in each of six regions of New York State, winners numbering some 6,000 will participate in finals competition.

Information for all sports has been updated for the 2010 Games. 
Using the links on the left, start by visiting the Eligibility page to determine the Division for which you are eligible. 
Then please visit the Sport pages (Open & Scholastic or Masters divisions) for information on the sport that interests you. 
 
Online registration will begin in April, and Regional Trials will start in early May, so please check back. 


The EMPIRE STATE GAMES competition is a program of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, is a member of the National Congress of State Games, and is a recognized State Games Program of the United States Olympic Committee.

A total of 10,312 athletes from 48 states converged on Colorado Springs, the home of America's Olympic Movement, to compete in 31 sports over the four days of competition from July 30-August 2.
The State Games of America (SGA) is the premier, national multi-sport event for athletes of all ages and abilities held every biennium. Medal winners from 31 State Games nationwide earned the right to compete against other State Games winners and match their skills and competitive desire in a national arena.
Any athlete who won a medal in their local 2007 or 2008 Summer State Games or their 2008 or 2009 Winter Games, or the 2007 State Games of America, was eligible to compete.
